Saturday Love: Easing the Pain of Tragedies

[Source: http://jucumchiclayoperu.org/]

It's been an intense week. The news has been packed with so many tragedies and the internet filled with conspiracy theories. Think of the people who have been affected by this, directly or indirectly; plus on top of that we all are dealing with daily life and our responsibilities, It's good to cherish the moments that we have with loved ones and create new ones with them or complete strangers.

Aim to give someone a good word or some positive inspiration today. You will definitely feel better.  Have a great weekend folks.

Saturday Love: Being Grateful

These are a few things that I am grateful for on the daily.  The month has already started and even with the usual stresses of the job and such, March has been good to me so far.  I am appreciating things that I receive in mind, body, and spirit.  I show gratitude towards those who put forth effort in all they do and encourage the ones who don't.  I keep a positive mindset and take heed to my friends as well as my mom's advice to not sweat the small stuff.  I keep my affirmations going and continue to serve as an example for others.

Take time to think about who and what has impacted on your life today and give thanks for the lesson in it or them.  Let it all sink in.

Have a blissful Saturday!

Saturday Love: Serious Me Time

Redbox!
Happy Saturday loves! Spending this morning and possibly most of the day inside.  Saturdays are my day of solitude and are often used as days to recoup from the busy week.  I'm just getting over a cold and my stomach is a bit uneasy so I am just relaxing.  Today I plan on building my "budget board" as well as my "vision board" and some of this wedding planning [for a close friend] and planning for the summer trip with Ashore.  Even though I have Netflix and Hulu Plus, I still have a thing for RedBox from time to time so for old times sake, I will rent the latest and have a mini marathon of films.  When I got off work this morning I rented Paranormal Activity 4 and Dredd, a little bit of horror with a bit of action to follow.

I am so excited for making this board. I have been working on the cash budget and it has definitely been controlling my spending across the board of my usual spending categories.  When I finish this, I will be able to organize my receipts and keep a spending chart/log.  These better habits that I have started are definitely sticking!  I feel like today shall be a productive day.

tea anyone?
Tea anyone? I love my X-Men mug.
What days do you usually like to have your "me time" and how do you like to spend it?

Saturday Love: Art Culture Edition

This is the first Saturday that I have had absolutely nothing planned. I had a potential event [The FabEllis Two] to go to but the tickets had not become available. So I am spending my Saturday watching The Walking Dead, doing some leisure blogging, and thinking about last night.

Last night after our BFP meeting, me and some of my closest friends went out to Greensboro's First Friday Event. We toured through several craft shops and art galleries, chowed on light hors d'oeuvres, and mingled with several artists apart of several co-ops.  It was a great networking experience. I had to leave early but it as still a good night.

As I sit and plan out my calendar from here until May, I try to add in some days to take time for more art appreciation and taste expansion.  I want to eat, drink, and live art. I don't want to wait once a month to have this, so I am looking for more opportunities in the immediate area, whether it be the Piedmont or Triangle.  I'm taking full advantage this year.  I had a great time traveling and such last year, now's the time to top that.

Saturday Love is going to be a new biweekly series of posts focusing on different types of love for myself.

With that being said, I leave you with a music selection fit for today. I love the Cherrelle and Alexander O'Neal original but this remake done by Toro Y Moi definitely sets the mood in a mellow type of way.
